Sarah Lee Guthrie (born in Massachusetts February 17, 1979) and Johnny Irion (born in Columbia in South Carolina February 3, 1968) form a pair of singers.
Guthrie and Irion were married Oct. 16, 1999 1 and formed an acoustic duo in the fall of 2000. Their music combined Irion’s love for rock music and culture of Guthrie, oriented folk music and country music.
Guthrie is the youngest daughter of singer Arlo Guthrie and granddaughter of Woody Guthrie . She released her first album, titled after his name in home production. Child she has done theater and dance. His interest in music developed when she worked with her father on a tour of Further Festival in 1997. “I always wrote poetry, so it’s not that hard for me to turn them into songs “.

Irion came from a family of artists. His uncle is the writer Thomas Steinbeck (son of John Steinbeck ) and his grandmother, Rubilee Knight, is a violinist. His grandfather was Fred Knight tenor singer. Irion and Guthrie met through a mutual friend ( Chris Robinson of Black Crowes ) when they worked together in Los Angeles. In 1999, Guthrie and Irion joined guitarist Tao Rodríguez-Seeger, grand-son of Pete Seeger, and formed a trio with him under the name of RIG.
Guthrie and Irion occurred at Newport Folk Festival, the Philadelphia Folk Festival and in theaters, cultural centers and schools. When they are not playing their own parts, they are touring with Arlo Guthrie, providing the first part of his show and then joining on stage for a family concert. They especially with the Carnegie Hall with Pete Seeger and The Dillars .
