Benjamin Thomas “Ben” Barnes (London, 20 August 1981) is an actor in English.
Among his most famous roles include that of Dorian Gray in of the movie, to its Caspian The Chronicles of Narnia-Prince Caspian and The Chronicles of Narnia-The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and that of John Whittaker in Easy Virtue at English.
Ben Barnes was born in London in 1981 by Thomas Barnes, professor of psychiatry, and Tricia Barnes, psychotherapist. He has a younger brother of three-year-old Jack, who takes care of charity. He attended two independent schools for boys: the Homefield Preparatory School in Sutton and Kings College School in Wimbledon. Later, he studied Drama and English Literature at Kingston University in London, from which he graduated with honors in 2004.
Ben Barnes began his career in theater. During adolescence, he spent some years at the National Youth Music Theatre , along with Jude Law and Jamie Bell. At age 15, got her first professional role as a drummer in the adaptation of the musical Bugsy Malone. It was briefly the lead singer of boy band Hyrise , candidate to represent the United Kingdom during the ‘Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song “Leading Me On”.
He began working in television in 2006, appearing as a guest star in the series Doctors . That same year, joins the cast of the theatrical production The History Boys . He debuted in the film as the young Dunstan in the 2007 film Stardust, based on the novel by Neil Gaiman. Then appears in Bigga Than Ben of Suzie Halewood.
In February 2007, you announced the participation of Ben Barnes in the role of X Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia – Prince Caspian, directed by Andrew Adamson. To participate in the filming, however, has broken the contract with the National Theatre that saw him involved in the production of The History Boys. To prepare for the role, the actor spent two months in New Zealand horse-riding. In 2010, interprets the new King Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia – The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and start shooting Killing Bono, a comedy based on the memories of Neil McCormick , titled Killing Bono: I Was Bono’s Doppelgänger, in which the author recalls spent his youth in Ireland as an aspiring rock star, in the shadow of his friend Bono, lead singer of the band U2 . In the film, Ben Barnes landed a role as Neil McCormick. The film was released in April 2011, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Back on the London stage playing the part of the First World War soldier in the drama Wraysford Stephen Birdsong, based on the novel by Sebastian Faulks . The show debuted at the Comedy Theatre September 28, 2010 and closes January 15, 2011.
In 2011, Barnes joins the cast of the film The Seventh Son, a film adaptation of the novel The Spook’s Apprentice by Joseph Delaney, which will begin shooting in March 2012.
In 2012, the actor will join Karl Urban and Emilia Clarke ‘s thriller Overdrive.
